ARTIST'S STATEMENT
In my work, I want to make visual the mark of my hand in seemingly simple ways. Making monotype prints, as in painting, gives me the freedom to combine my love of drawing and collage. My work is abstract and nonobjective. Working without any preconceived ideas, I see the white surface as an invitation to play and experiment. Guided by my senses and intuition I begin with a mark, a gesture, leading to another and another. The process is like a dance of many layers. Out of the beginning chaos, I search for order and the feeling of "yes." I believe all things have an inner voice that when unveiled speaks its own language; a language one need only to be open to.
