ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Postcards and Meditations.
This series began as a travel log, a collection of places visited. something a little more interesting than a snap shot. The final prints were not visualized prior to printing, but often collected on the press bed with small collages made on the plate. The results, often surprising... like cloud watching. Images seemed to immerge as the prints were pulled. Studied a bit more, the images began to tell a story. What was an evergreen tree in the original photo became a figure. The image reminds me of Donatello's David. Spending time with the completed print is very siilar to meditation; clear the mind and let the story be created. Dance with the muses and they will whisper.
